抓住病机，早期治疗：牛羊过食精饲料初期临床上没有明显症状；中期的主要症状为精神委顿，低头闭眼，肚腹涨满，不愿走动，呼吸、心跳增速，结膜潮红，口鼻干涩；后期症状则是卧地不起，头偏向一侧，头不抬，眼不睁，腹内积有大量液体。

纠正脱水和酸中毒：本病的致死原因大多是由脱水和酸中毒引起的。从病理来看，脱水和酸中毒经常是很快发生，因此不可大意。

严禁用盐类泄剂或让其大量饮水：发生该病酸剧增，吸引血管中的水分大量向胃内渗透，若投服盐类泄剂，会导致脱水加重；若让其大量饮水，会使腹腔内液体增多，腹压加大，病畜腿疼难立，可使卧地不起加剧。

选择正确方法治疗：食入颗粒性的精料，要适时进行三胃注射。食入粉碎性精料，首先选择的治疗方法是洗胃，因为三胃是消化系统承上启下的中转站，三胃畅通，各胃的连锁反应正常，瘤胃的食物可下移，四胃中的食糜可推后，积食可消，病患可除。所以应适时进行三胃注射。（段玉祥）
